Non-intrusive flow measurement with the FLUXUS® ADM ultrasonic flowmeters from FLEXIM
Clamp-on ultrasonic flow measurement has long established itself as a practical and reliable measurement method. The meters can be used everywhere where the pipe walls as well as the fluid flowing in the pipe are acoustically transmittive.
The flowmeters of the FLUXUS® series work according to the transit time difference correlation principle. Since ultrasounds propagate in solids, the transducers can be mounted onto the pipe.

flowmeter and heatmeterflowmeter and heatmeter
The transit-time difference method makes use of the fact that the speed of propagation of an ultrasonic signal depends on the flow rate of the fluid in which it is propagating. Just as a swimmer swimming against the current, an ultrasonic signal propagating against the direction of flow of the fluid will be slower as in flow direction.
The advantages of the technology are evident. With the Clamp-On technique, no cutting of the pipe work is necessary. The non-intrusive measurement of energy flow and energy is also a task that can be easily realized with the FLUXUS® flowmeters.

Uncomplicated Determination of Energy Flow with Clamp-On-Transducers
In times of rising energy prices and environemental regulations, optimization of energy flow is a most crucial issue. From heat delivery between central heating plants to end users or heat transfer flows in industrial processes: controling and balancing the flow of energy is of utmost importance for cost conscious users of energy.
The Heat Calculator Option of FLEXIM's non invasive FLUXUS ADM flow meter allows the easy determination of the energy flow in a system.
With temperature measurements made at the inlet and at the outlet of a system as well as flow measurement at the outlet , FLUXUS calculates the Heat Flow or energy usage within that system. All this is done with temperature and flow measurement devices mounted on the outside of a pipe.
FLUXUS will display the actual heat flow through the system, and if needed, totalize the heat flow in order to obtain the heat quantity.
The values can easily be transmitted to a PC for display and analysis. The data obtained can be used for energy flow balancing or it can be transmitted to a process control system.
Until now, flow measurement at high temperatures could be quite a problematic task. With the new patented WaveInjector® von FLEXIM, this now belongs to the past; flow measurement up to 400°C is not a problem any more, even in explosive atmosphere.
More about high temperature flow meters
The WaveInjector® allows a clamp-on flow measurement at temperatures as high as 400°C (752°F), even in explosive atmosphere. It offers you all the well known advantage of the clamp-on ultrasonic technology: a non-invasive measurement with a high dynamic range and a high flexibility.
The WaveInjector® from FLEXIM was engineered to extend the temperature range of the clamp-on ultrasonic flowmeters.
gas flowmeter
FLEXIM belongs to the pioneers in the domain of non-intrusive flow measurement of gas with ultrasounds. Also here, all the advantages of the clamp-on technology can be used.
More about our gas flow meters
The clamp-on technology is an ideal solution for a precise flow measurement of gases at high pressures. In the case of pipes with large nominal diameter, it represent a financially advantageous alternative to conventional systems. The great measuring dynamics of the instruments allows the determination of small flows. FLUXUS® offers you the well-known advantages of the clamp-on-technique - a non-intrusive measurement which is independent of pressure and of the properties of the media, realized with high measuring dynamics.
An ATEX certified version is available. Clamp-on flow transducers are mounted onto the pipe instead of inserted into it. They are not in direct contact with the gas and thus not submitted to wear and tear. The measurement does not cause any loss of pressure in the pipe. The retrofitting on existing installations is very easy and can be made without interruption of the process.

portable ultrasonic flowmeter
With its clamp-on transducers and its rechargeable battery, FLUXUS® ADM 6725 is ideal for service work.
The clamp-on flow transducers are mounted onto the pipe instead of inserted into it. The measurement is therefore non-invasive, and no process interruption is necessary for the installation. The transducers are not in direct contact with the gas and thus not submitted to wear and tear.
All transducer pairs are factory calibrated. The calibration data and the transducer parameters are saved in a transducer internal non-volatile memory and are automatically sent to the transmitter upon connection to facilitate the operation of the flowmeter. A zeroing procedure is therefore not necessary.
The user interface is adapted to the detected transducers. The instruments solely asks in a logical sequence for the pipe and medium parameters. The physical properties of a large number of pipe materials and media are stored in an internal data base. The status display enables the user to judge online of the quality and precision of the measurement.
The Flexible Flowmeter
FLUXUS® ADM 7407
Ultrasonic flowmeter for permanent installation, flexible configuration with various inputs and output
flexible dedicated ultrasonic flowmeter
FLUXUS® ADM 7407 is an ultrasonic flowmeter for permanent installation.
In addition to the flow channels, ADM 7407 can be equipped with up to 4 process inputs. The additional input quantities (e.g. temperature or pressure) can be used by FLUXUS together with the measured flow for the calculation of further quantities: heat flow, mass flow, etc.
A state display helps the user to judge of the measuring situation and measuring precision directly during the measurement.
